Emperor, Reversed

http://one-hoopy-frood.livejournal.com/10678.html : "Why you should care," an article on the 2009 election in Iran.

Perhaps it's a bit odd for a tarot journal to be posting on such a situation, but I'm almost as interested in politics as I am about Tarot, and I am highly attached to the ideal of people having choices in their government. Sadly, this ideal is not the reality when it comes to so-called free elections in much of the world.

As I was doing another personal reading, the Emperor came up in a Hopes/Fears position, or "what you fear but want the most." Without going into my reading, this particular picture of the Emperor (drawn from the Revelations Tarot) reminds me very much of Iran's president.

Code of Ethics

This journal is under construction. More updates to come!

My Code of Ethics

1. Purpose
My intentions for this online journal are to explore different methods of divination in order to help others answer questions for themselves; to provide an out-of-the-box perspective on those questions; to entertain; and to develop my practice and knowledge of these methods. My endeavor is to learn all that I can to advance my professional development and that will aid me in giving better readings.

2. Honesty
I will endeavor to be honest in all my readings. I will say what I see in my readings and be honest in my interpretations, as well as be truthful when I cannot interpret something. I will never lay claim to a percentage of "accuracy" because it is possible that I will make mistakes.

3. Courtesy
I will treat all of my clients with consideration, courtesy, and compassion. I will not discriminate based on a client's culture, creed, faith, race, sexuality, etc., and I will strive to maintain a nonjudgmental attitude.

4. Services
a. When a querent/client posts a question on my journal or sends a question through email, I will provide a free reading using one of the methods of the client's choice (To be discussed). I will not ask for any money or extra services in return, will not pressure the client to return, will not offer to remove "curses" or to perform them in exchange for money, or otherwise engage in "shady" dealings. However, I will ask for feedback on the reading so that I may learn and improve my skills.
b. I have the right to refuse to read for any client: if I am uncomfortable with the question presented to me, in which case I will recommend other places that the client may go to for a reading, or if a client is being rude, discourteous, or obnoxious towards myself, in which case I have the right to delete the offensive comment and block the user.

5. Responsibilities
a. My responsibilities are to be honest, fair, supportive, objective, and to fulfill my promises. I will work to the best interests of my clients and strive to do no harm. I am not responsible for fulfilling unreasonable requests nor for the actions of the client, who has the responsibility to take charge of his or her own choices and decisions.
b. I cannot give advice for things that are beyond my experience/expertise. Doctors, counselors, lawyers, financial advisors and other professionals will be more suited for questions that call for medical, financial, legal, etc., decisions to be made.
c. While it is not absolutely required, giving helpful and constructive feedback after a reading is also the responsibility of the client. (Note: Without feedback, I will not do another reading for that client until feedback is given or two months have passed).

6. Empowerment
Because I believe that the future is never etched in stone, I will empower my clients to believe that they can change their future by taking actions and making choices.

7. Confidentiality
a. Many of the readings will be posted publicly over this online journal, so I may post your question along with the reading in a journal entry. You must be a registered user to make comments.
b. If you choose to not have your reading made public, you may skip over the journal, but you must email me at: arcana_carnival@hotmail.com. I will not share names or personal information without express permission.
c. If the reading happens to reveal delicate information, I will forwarn you before posting the reading and give you the choice of whether you would prefer this information to be posted or sent confidentially over email.

8. Professional Conduct
I promise to maintain a professional, ethical, and respectful relationship with all of my clients and to treat my clients' concerns seriously. I will do my best in every reading to answer my clients' questions, provide informative and useful interpretations, and try to conclude all readings in a way that leaves the client feeling more empowered than before the reading. I will never take advantage of a client's trust for personal gain.
